Endometriosis is much more than painful periods. It is a chronic disease associated with severe, life-impacting pain, fatigue, depression and anxiety. Endometriosis affects roughly 10% of reproductive age women and girls globally, according to the World Health Organization. There’s no cure, but specialists like the advanced gynecology surgeons at The MetroHealth System offer treatment options to remove endometrial tissue and reduce pain.

Robert R. Pollard, MD, is an expert in endometriosis treatment. A surgeon in the MetroHealth Department of Advanced Gynecology, he is certified by American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology in Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery.

During this Be SImplyWell health talk, Dr. Pollard will discuss the disease and address why it’s important for patients who need surgery to have it performed by a highly trained specialist, which can provide long-term relief.
